Custom Nike Air Max 90 "Pink Cheetah"

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 6:33 PM Comments comments (0)

Sometimes simpler is better. With an already all black and pink pair of shoes I could have easily screwed up a design or stuck to something uncomplicated. Sticking to those two colors I painted a quick cheetah print to give a couple ladies the opportunity for a custom pair of shoes from Evolved Footwear. Only two pairs were made. You can buy them in the store here: EF "Pink Cheetah" Air Max 90

mewithoutYou Skateboarding and Guitar Playing Nike Dunks

Sharing these custom Nike Dunk lows is long overdue. Creating pairs like this are one of the best things about shoe customizing. Being able to create something for someone that truly cares about what you do makes the work more rewarding. Corey, the customer of these wanted his own custom sneakers as soon as he saw the pair I made for his brother in-law. Two and a half years later he finally had them.

Our final design is a true one of one based off of three of Corey's main interests: skateboarding, playing guitar, and his favorite band MeWithoutYou and a few abstract paintings and designs he liked. With his choosen color scheme of red, blue, and white I was hesitant a bit but I think throwing in some black and multiple shades of blue broke them up from their usual cliche. The end result Corey was more than happy and that makes painting pairs like this one of my favorite things to do.

This first shot was from when Corey got his senior photos taken by a great photographer here in Kansas City: Amanda Eaton Photography

Blue Springs Wildcats Volleyball Custom Nike Dunks

Posted on December 27, 2009 at 10:11 PM Comments comments (0)

I made my first Blue Springs High School themed custom shoe last year for someone to give as a Christmas gift. This go-round was the same situation for a friends sister who is on the girls volleyball team. Using a Nike Dunk low I covered the toes with the Wildcats logo and a purple and white volleyball against a textured black and gold background. Topped off with "WILDCATS" and her nickname "Breezy" on the back heels. Once again its awesome to know there is a kid wearing the shoes I customized at my old high school, knowing I did the same thing back in the day!

Denny's Lumberjack Slam Nike Dunks

These are a recent customer order for someone out in Massachusetts that are to be a gift in womens size 7. After deciding upon a theme we talked out different ideas about Denny's Restaurant and came up with the reciepients favorite meal, the Lumberjack Slam: which is made up of hashbrowns and 2 each of eggs, pancakes, toast, ham, sausage, and bacon. I threw in the navy blue toe and brown and red flannel pattern to accent the "lumberjack" theme. This is definitely a full plate....I could barely finish it when I went to do research for the design at my local Denny's.

A Nurse's Custom Nike Cortez

Evolved-Footwear is officially in the medical field, kind of. I recently finished these for a friend who happens to be a nurse taking care of patients on the daily. Featuring a little bit of the medical materials she uses every day: thermometer, stethoscope, needle, zebra, tie-dye, and smiley face band-aids finished off with couple medical logos.

Evolved Footwear is looking for a few good feet.......

Posted on February 18, 2009 at 7:36 PM Comments comments (1)

Evolved Footwear is looking for a few good feet to help represent the brand. The plan is to build more than what some call a "street" team, EF is looking for a Global Team. Here are the criteria:

1. Do you live in a large city: New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Fransisco, etc. Not just United States either......live in another country? Even better!

2. Do you wear sneakers, a lot, often, and most always?

3. Are you a talker?  You are open to talking to people about your shoes

4. Do you interact with new people everyday?

5. Do you go to college: Aside from studying you also get out as much as possible

6. Do you have Connections? (If you do, you should not need to have a description of what EF is looking for, just tell us what connections, and we will determine if in fact you do)

7. Are you active online? Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, your own blog or website, whatever!

This is not a definite list of what we are looking for, more of a guideline. So if you answered yes to at least a few of those questions we would like to hear from you. Email your answers to all those questions and tell us why it would be a good decision to choose you? We will then get back to you to discuss the plans of Evolved Footwear's Global Team.

This first pair was made back in 2007 for the then new CEO of the merger between Virgin Records and Capitol Records, Jason Flom. Most recently two pairs were made for his son and wife. More photos are in the Photo Gallery: http://www.evolved-footwear.com/apps/photos/
